HOW MANY SESSIONS WILL WE NEED?

The number of sessions depends on a range of factors given each couple is unique. On average many people attend marriage counselling for between six and twelve sessions.

A key determinant is the willingness of each person to participate in counselling, along with a sense of shared responsibility for their situation.

The majority of couples who call us for counselling are doing so for the first time, and often say it feels unbelievable that they have reached this point of crisis. They never thought that this could happen to them.

We make it as easy as possible to call and just talk to someone about counselling.

Testimonials:

From Hannah and Justin, mid 30's, one young child.

" I am a completely different person to the one I was about 12 weeks ago. I was more likely to argue and didn't hear what my partner was trying to say. I have finally stopped talking and started hearing things from her point of view.  Everything we were doing before was making matters worse.

We could never have improved our marriage by ourselves, I can see that now. We needed a person in the middle to tell us where things were going wrong, because the things we thought were the problems turned out to be irrelevant.

I can see hope now where there was none before."

From Richard and Anastasia, intensives and follow up couples sessions

" We are on a big learning curve. We have found the counseling challenging, but in a good way. The intensives gave us the massive move we needed and it gave us hope. For me in particular, because it was all but over when we decided we should do some counseling. We really should have done it a long time ago.

We are now working through the issues that got us to this stage and the counseling I'm doing individually is really helping me to stay on track."

From Mick and Patricia, 2 couples sessions

" We only had two sessions and it has made all the difference. We are getting along really well, communicating without arguing. It is so much better than before.

Please pass on our thanks to the counsellor, we are really amazed how quickly things have changed."
